Picture Ring 3
A picture ring with rutilated quartz, a flame-treated surface and a texture reminiscent of a lunar crater.
Description
“Picture Ring 3” resembles an abstract collage worn on the finger. Its main surface was created by melting silver over a titanium guide and then treating it with fire.
This process gives the metal an unpredictable texture. The uneven, animated surface recalls a lunar crater or a fragment of unfamiliar terrain.
A polished rutilated quartz inlay crosses the center like an arrow, cutting through the textured surface and directing the entire form.
A small square-wire detail adds structural clarity and reinforces the sense of a deliberately assembled metal object.
Despite its expressive upper section, the ring is not overly thick. The comfortable shank is designed for sizes 17–18.
Commissioning a Similar Piece
A similar piece can be made, but an exact repeat is impossible: the metal behaves differently every time it is melted and flame-treated.
The stone and size can be changed, and additional elements added. Proportions should be discussed individually, as major changes could alter the character of the composition.
