A large silver ring with amazonite and a surface assembled from fused silver fragments, reminiscent of masonry or an ancient architectural wall.
Description
“Grid Architecture” is a large handcrafted sterling silver ring. Its upper surface was created by fusing small pieces of silver with fire, without solder.
The metal is heated until it is nearly ready to gather into a drop. At that moment, the separate fragments join into a dense block-like surface.
This structure gives the ring an unusual appearance: the surface recalls masonry, an ancient wall or architectural blocks assembled with almost no visible gaps.
A green amazonite inlay forms the center of the composition, holding the eye and bringing life to the austere metal surface.
This is not a classic ring with a smooth top. Its character comes from rough architectural texture, fire and the feeling of a silver wall assembled by hand.
Commissioning a Similar Piece
An exact repeat is impossible because the silver behaves differently each time it is fused with fire.
A similar piece can preserve the block-like surface, the feeling of an architectural wall and the central stone inlay.
For a custom commission, the number of fused elements, the stone and the proportions of the inlay can be changed.
