Description
“Soft Fold” is a handcrafted sterling silver ring with a faceted amethyst. The focus here is not rigid geometry but the sensation of a soft form, as if the metal had been bent and gathered into a fold.
The silver surface was treated with an abrasive material, creating a texture reminiscent of leather: the surface is intentionally not perfectly smooth; traces, scratches and subtle depth remain.
A subtle darkening remains in the recesses and scratches. It was deliberately retained: the dark lines emphasize the relief and make the surface feel more alive.
The amethyst acts as a small accent of color within the silver form. The ring feels unusual yet remains compact enough for comfortable everyday wear.
Commissioning a Similar Piece
A similar piece can be created while preserving the overall character of the soft folded form. An exact repeat is impossible: the form is produced mechanically and changes slightly each time.
For a custom commission, the stone, size and surface character can be changed. The texture can remain leather-like, or be made smoother or more matte, or a sparkling diamond-tool finish can be added.
