Construction with a Disc
An architectural silver ring with raw citrine, a rectangular platform and a disc engraved with concentric lines.
Description
“Construction with a Disc” is a prototype ring in sterling silver with citrine. The stone retains its raw surface, preserving the feeling of a natural fragment.
The ring has an engineered, architectural character. Its composition is built on a rectangular platform supporting a disc, a cylindrical element and the stone setting.
The flat disc serves as the central structural detail. Concentric lines on its surface reinforce the impression of a mechanism, diagram or small technical construction.
Italian patina darkens the ring, emphasising relief, lines and joints while making the citrine more visible within the silver construction.
Despite its complex upper section, the ring is comfortable to wear. The closed shank holds the form securely and gives the piece a more concentrated structure.
This is not a conventional stone ring but a small architectural object worn on the hand: platform, disc, citrine and patina act as parts of one construction.
Recreating the Piece
A similar piece can preserve the overall character: architectural construction, rectangular platform, disc, patina and stone setting.
For a custom commission, the proportions, stone and arrangement of elements can be changed.
The shank can also be made open for a more flexible fit or a different way of wearing the piece.
