Description
“Fold with Black Garnet” is an archival NP Studio piece in sterling silver.
The upper section is built from two flared cylindrical elements. Their form creates a simple yet distinct geometric rhythm.
The composition features black melanite garnet. The dark stone creates a contrasting accent against the bright polished silver.
The metal is polished, so the form is defined by reflections, contours, and transitions between the cylindrical elements.
This is an archival prototype. A new ring can be commissioned from this idea while retaining its construction principle and stone setting.
Reimagining the Piece
A new piece can be created from “Fold with Black Garnet,” retaining the two cylindrical elements, polished surface, and dark stone setting.
A custom version can change the size and cylinder proportions, or replace melanite with another dark stone.
An exact copy of the archival piece is not intended: the new work will be an independent variation of this geometric construction.
