Textured Plate
An archival silver ring with three concave surfaces, an open band, and a restrained abrasive texture.
Description
“Textured Plate” is an archival NP Studio piece. There is no large stone setting: the focus is on metal, surface, and construction.
The upper section consists of three concave surfaces. They create a simple rhythm and read as small metal planes working together.
The band is open, making the construction feel lighter and freer than a classic closed ring.
The surface is abrasively finished and remains restrained, matte, and non-reflective. The texture supports the geometry, emphasizing the three concave elements.
This is an archival prototype. A similar ring can be created while preserving the general principles of its construction and texture.
Reimagining the Piece
A new piece can be created from the idea of “Textured Plate,” retaining the three concave surfaces, open band, and restrained matte texture.
A custom version can change the size, proportions, number of surfaces, and intensity of the texture.
An exact copy of the archival ring is unnecessary: the new piece may be more compact, elongated, or fluid.
