A silver ring-object with azur-malachite and a coral-like silver element. The form is composed as a small sculpture worn on the hand.
Description
“Sculpture” is a prototype ring in sterling silver. It features azur-malachite, a blue stone with green inclusions.
This is not a conventional stone ring but a small sculptural object combining a rectangular shank, a large stone setting and a coral-like silver element.
The shank is rectangular and becomes thinner where the fingers meet, keeping the ring comfortable despite its voluminous upper section.
The coral-like element is silver, cast into plaster beads so that every form emerges differently and can never be repeated exactly.
The assembled sculptural quality is central: stone, shank and coral structure exist not separately but as a single coherent form.
The ring suggests a direction for future work: a new piece can be created from its character, but not as a copy.
Recreating the Piece
An exact repeat is impossible. Rings like this are closer to art objects, existing as independent sculptural constructions.
A similar piece can follow this direction: a large stone, rectangular shank, silver coral-like form and an overall sculptural character.
In a new piece, the stone, proportions, element placement and degree of volume can change. The final construction will be different.
