Description
“Forged Ring” is a sterling silver prototype. The form is entirely handmade and contains almost no additional decorative elements.
The main volume is created by forging. Different hammers produce an uneven, living surface with pronounced edges.
This is neither cast nor a smooth classic ring. The tool marks matter: impact, deformation, and the sense of a dense silver object.
The ring is open. This version is Russian size 20. The open construction keeps it visually light despite the rugged form.
After forging, the surface is patinated and selected edges are lightly polished. Dark recesses and bright highlights make the relief more legible.
Its character approaches rugged Scandinavian metalwork: minimal ornament, maximum metal, surface, and traces of handwork.
Reimagining the Piece
A similar piece can retain the overall character: silver, forging, an open form, patina, and highlighted edges.
A custom version can change the size, ring width, surface roughness, and type of polishing.
An exact copy is impossible because the texture is formed by hammer blows and the metal behaves differently each time.
