Martian Chronicles — artisan sterling silver ring by NP Studio

Martian Chronicles

An unusual silver ring with amethyst, three formed surfaces, and wire connections between them. The piece resembles a small structure with a distinct projecting setting.

Description

“Martian Chronicles” is a sterling silver prototype ring with amethyst. Its form is unconventional: it is not built around a familiar band and central setting.

The ring is entirely handmade. Three distinct formed surfaces are joined by silver wire elements.

The amethyst setting projects separately. Rather than simply occupying the center, the stone becomes an independent structural accent.

The piece is not about symmetry or a classic stone setting, but about the feeling of a hand-assembled surface: multiple planes, connections, wire, and a projecting stone element.

The name “Martian Chronicles” reflects the ring’s character. It resembles a fragment of an unfamiliar landscape or a technical object assembled in silver.

An exact copy is impossible because the ring is formed by hand. In a new commission, the surfaces, wire connections, and placement of the setting will differ.

Reimagining the Piece

An exact copy is impossible because the surfaces, wire connections, and overall construction are formed by hand.

A similar piece can retain the overall character: three surfaces, connecting wire elements, and a separate projecting stone setting.

A custom version can change the proportions, replace the amethyst with another stone, add new elements, or completely alter the surface texture.
