Biomechanics

A sold silver ring inspired by H. R. Giger. Chaotically fused plates, staples, springs, and pseudo-eyelets form a dark biomechanical construction.

Description

“Biomechanics” is a sold sterling silver ring inspired by H. R. Giger and his biomechanical visual language.

The ring is assembled from chaotically arranged fused silver plates. Rather than a symmetrical classic setting, it is a dense handmade metal composition.

Staples, springs, and pseudo-eyelets reinforce the sense of a mechanism while the piece remains living, irregular, and distinctly handmade.

The surface is patinated. Oxidation darkens the ring and emphasizes its relief, gaps, plate edges, and small details.

The sold ring was Russian size 18 and was priced at 18,000 RUB.

It is essentially a small silver picture worn on the hand. Its character comes from the chaos of plates, dark surface, biomechanical language, and handmade construction.

Reimagining the Piece

An exact copy is impossible. This work is close to a painting: the placement of plates, staples, springs, and small elements develops during the process.

A new ring can follow the same direction: dark patina, biomechanical character, chaotic silver plates, and additional structural elements.

A new piece will not look exactly like this prototype, but it can preserve Giger’s influence and the overall biomechanical character.
